How about something a little gross? I have to admit that the inspiration for this prompt is my being in the room with a farting dog whose rump is aimed right at me, so you see what I mean by "foul." But you don't have to write about stink or other ickiness. How about foul humor? Foul play? A foul in sports? Or, you can really go for the gross. What is the foulest experience you've ever had? The foulest stench you've ever smelled? The foulest most black-hearted person you've ever known (characters in literature could work too)? Foulest job you can imagine?

Another House of God, and Gate of Heaven
On Saturday 19th January, His Lordship Bishop Bernard Fellay was at the Society of Saint Pius X’s new Church in Gateshead, near Newcastle, UK. Some of the Transalpine Redemptorists were also present, and played a large part in the ceremonies. The Ceremony was attended by many of the Society’s faithful coming from all over the UK, some from a great distance. The Church was named “The Holy Name of Jesus”. After the blessing and Pontifical High Mass, there were some refreshments, followed by Pontifical Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament.
His Lordship starts the blessing outside the new church.

Protest of support for Pope Benedict XVI
We learned with sorrow that last Thursday Pope Benedict XVI was forced to cancel his visit to Rome's Sapienza University because of the prolonged protests of a minority of students and 67 of their professors. Today we join the millions of souls worldwide who protest their support and affection for the Holy Father. In particular, and from the bottom of our hearts, we thank him for the Motu Proprio of July 7 2007.
Viva Pope Benedict XVI!

#94 - Fellow Travelers
I read this term -- "fellow travelers" -- on a blog this morning, and the writer intended it in the context of fellow bloggers she had met over the course of her own journey -- her life journey, journey of self-discovery. And I really liked that. I also like the idea of all the stories we are sure to have of fellow travelers on boats and buses and trains, in far-off lands, or even at home. I know I do, and I'm curious to hear about yours!

TALBOT FARMERS MARKET – THE HEART OF THE GOLDFIELDS
Deservedly one of the best regarded farmers’ markets in Victoria and possibly Australia, the Talbot Farmers’ market continues to draw thousands of people to the historic Goldfields town on the third Sunday of each month.
As we move into summer and the spring plantings come into harvest, expect to see plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit for sale, direct from the soil of the producer. Luscious tomatoes, crisp beetroot, peas and beans, corn, all kinds of citrus and stonefruit – blood oranges, plums, lemons, apricots, nectarines and peaches. Fresh herbs and lettuces.
But this market is so much more, as lovely as the fresh fruit and veges are – and they are truly delicious. Your Christmas dinners can be filled entirely from the enormous range of food you can indulge yourself and your family and friends in. Rich, fruit-filled puddings from the award-winning Pud. Wicked cakes and pastries from Tea with Alice and Maria Gulyas. Rich roasts from Beckworth View Highland Cattle. Ostrich sausages, creamy cheeses. Olive oils from the producers voted the best in Victoria by The Age newspaper’s Epicure Good Food Guide. Pasta, pasta sauces, ravioli, pierogi, spaghetti, fettuccine – all the fabulous flavours that can be imagined. Juicy dried fruit, crunchy almonds and assorted nuts. We could go on and on – but it’s much better to come along and see for yourself.
And the market is so much more than food. Seedlings of innumerable plants and vegetables. Fruit trees. Wheat grain, chaff and straw. In December the organically certified linseed oils and flaxes of Stoney Creek Oils will be at the Market for the first time. Livestock: the famous Chook Fanciers, with their unparalleled choice of birds and their extensive knowledge of all things poultry. Quail. Black pigs. Worms and worm wee. There are soaps and creams, lavender products – and native grasses and trees.
Then there’s the town itself. Talbot has a Town Hall market on the same day, perfect for finding that last minute, out-of-the-ordinary gift. Visit the new Corridor Gallery at the rear of the Crescent Community Centre for artworks, or drop into the fabulous Fanny’s Flat for the best in vintage and new clothing and accessories. Amble your way to Talbot Railway Station for railway memorabilia, drought tolerant plants and art. Slightly Bent Books on the corner of Camp Street and Scandinavian Crescent is full of literary wonders – and next door Shed 47 houses a gallery of large paintings whilst a few steps down is a treasure trove of collectables.
Eating out on the day is no worry. The Court House Hotel/motel does terrific roast on Market Day. The Quince Farm Café is renowned for coffee, cakes and unfailingly sunny attitude. And the latest addition to our food family, Big Fig Café. You need to taste the food there to believe how fine it is.
The Talbot Farmers Market is held on the third Sunday of each month – rain, hail or shine, 9am to 2pm, in Scandinavian Crescent and Camp Street, Talbot. (Mel Ref 620 J11)

#93 - "The Date"
You can either write about an actual date (blind or otherwise) or about a particular date or a due date or a deadline or the best day of your life or the day that changed your life (or if you feel cheeky you could write about the date that is a food.)

Closer to the Holy Priesthood
Christmas Eve, 2007 was a great day for our little Congregation as two of our students received the last two minor orders in Holy Cross Seminary, Australia. Rev. Br. Yousef Marie, C.SS.R and Rev. Br. Jean Marie, C.SS.R. both received the minor orders of Exorcist and Acolyte at the hands of his Lordship Bishop Bernard Fellay. God willing they will be both ordained as Deacons in December 2008.
With his right hand placed on the book of exorcisms, Rev. Br. Jean Marie, C.SS.R is ordained to the order of Exorcist.
Rev. Br. Yousef Marie, C.SS.R. is ordained an acolyte as he places his thumb and index finger on the candlestick and candle.
Some of the seminarians who received the tonsure and minor orders at the front entrance to the seminary.

#92 - "New" or "New Year"
You can choose either to write about the word "new" and new things, or about the new year, and what you think/hope/dream/fear it holds for you. Resolutions? You can put those in too if you like!
